Replication
involves making a glass master and the discs are pressed.
The glass master is used in a stamping machine to produce CDs and DVDs by the
thousands. The operation involves using an injection-mold system by first
creating a replica of the mold. The CD and DVDs are coated with a extremely
fine layer of aluminum. The aluminum coated CD and DVDs are then coated with a
liquor and then hardened with and ultraviolet beam. Replicated discs are the
highest quality CD and DVDs available. Glass masters are expensive and the
process is used only for orders of 1000 or more. Performance Impressions has
partnered with an industry leader allowing us to offer the highest quality CD
and DVD in the industry at wholesale prices that beat many of the giants while
providing personalized service. Glass masters can be used to press hundreds of
thousands to millions of CD and DVDs quickly with the highest available
quality.
Duplication
is the process
where data is burned to disc. With duplication, the contents of a CD or
DVD is transferred to writeable discs in a procedure is mainly known as
‘burning’. Burning CDs and DVDs are best for runs which are less than
500 due to the low set up cost. If quality is not the main concern, many
companies burn their data by using in-house towers, which generally consists
of towers of drives and a good hard disc to maintain the original source files
and the proper software to control all theses things. Some of these towers
also include robotic arms and things like disc magazines which can hold 30, 50
or sometimes 100 discs. All of our duplicated and CDs and DVDs are
tested to ensure they are error-free.
